Life Coaching for Children in School
Helping Kids provide our life coaching for children services in primary and secondary schools, reaching young people in the place that they spend the most time. The programme was created to provide the best support to children in collaboration with parents and teachers.
We offer three key services to school and students:
1:1 coaching with students that addresses individual issues and concerns at a more personal and customised level. We work with young people to help them with any issues, boosting confidence and increasing resilience.
Parenting seminars covering topics such as building confidence in our children; bouncing back with resilience; and a good homework routine.
Students afterschool clubs are practical skills based workshops addressing the transition to secondary school; exam confidence; and forming friendships.
There are a number of benefits of working in schools: travel time is minimised; the sessions are in a familiar location; and the daily schedule is agreed with teachers to avoid disruption of academic lessons. Teachers are debriefed at the end of each day, and full notes provided to parents and schools. There is the opportunity for parents to ask questions as well as get together to support one another. We can also create topic specific workshops for parents, students or staff on request.
How does it work?
We always offer a free pilot programme lasting for 8-10 weeks, depending on academic calendars and activities, arranged to be most convenient for the school. The school, students and parents receive the full service at no cost.
After the pilot programme the schools can take on the Life Coaching programme as an ongoing additional service. We can provide specific information about the different ways of funding this service.
All our coaches have a full disclosure DBS, practitioner insurance, first aid paediatric certificates and NSPCC safeguarding children certificates.
